Juniors >> Welcome

Lingfield Cricket Club is delighted to welcome junior players and their families to the club. We sincerely hope that you will find us to be a safe, sociable, and well run club where young players are encouraged and assisted to improve their cricketing skills in an enjoyable environment while respecting the traditions and spirit of the game.

Our doors are open to all young cricketers equally.  Why not come and try us?

For the youngest and most inexperienced players we run mini-cricket coaching sessions.  Lots of fun, and parents can either sit and watch or get more involved and help.

In most years we are able to offer competitive cricket for all age groups from Under 9s to Under 17s.

Once children are old enough, and confident to do so, we encourage them to play open-age cricket. This often provides an opportunity for a child to play in the same team with other family members and helps make them feel what they truly are, a vital constituent of the club and thus our community.

The club firmly considers that it is important that all members, players, coaches, administrators and parents/carers or guardians should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Our  Club Policies, Guidelines and Codes of Conduct can be found elsewhere on the site and we do ask that our members to read, understand and respect these. [Click here to read].

Whilst we are fortunate to have the use of three grounds and usually over 170 children on our register, we are an amateur club that is proud to retain some of the traditional village club ambiance while trying to be forward thinking in other ways.

We are affiliated to the Surrey Cricket Board who have given us much help and guidance in recent years. In return we are committed to supporting their structure for young player development and each year nominate a number of players for assessment for county or district squads. We are additionally affiliated to Sussex Cricket Board and can recommend players to them if more appropriate.

We have a separate page of FAQs but if you have a question not covered there, or would prefer to talk, please give me a call and I will do my best to help.
